Enter the shining world of Anglo-Saxon art, full of hidden messages, beasts and dragons. Participants will explore the world of the Sutton Hoo treasures and the Lindisfarne Gospel, discovering their art in metal work, carving and manuscripts. You will unpick the hidden messages and reveal the beasts and dragons.
Then you will develop your own designs, based on Anglo-Saxon art, and try to replicate their intensity. Working with gold card to create designs based on Anglo-Saxon metal work, and with brush, pen and ink to explore the intertwined beasts of the manuscripts. You will take home your Anglo-Saxon metal designs in gold and your letter designs.
