Caroline Strong

Caroline has always loved drawing, even her non art career involved drawing maps.

Her work is colourful yet sensitive, distinctive and realistic, though not photorealistic, and reflects what she sees in the world around us. She especially enjoys working in coloured pencil, watercolour and pastel, and uses them individually or combined in an artwork.

Living and growing up in the South Downs National Park, Caroline loves walking and taking photographs of the natural world. She likes to analyse the detail, the way things grow and the inherent colours and then how to portray the subject with suitable tonal contrast, along with choosing a medium and surface that best depicts it. There is no greater reward than to see an idea develop on a blank surface and to transform it into a piece of artwork that somebody will cherish for life.
